McClure Middle School was recently recognized by Solution Tree for the school’s sustained success in raising student achievement.

This designation places McClure among an elite group of schools nationwide that excel in creating a collaborative culture focused on learning and results.

McClure’s successful implementation of the Professional Learning Communities at Work® process was a major contributing factor in the improved achievement of its students.

PLCs are schools and districts in which educators recognize the key to improved learning for students is ongoing, job-embedded learning for the adults who serve those students. The three big ideas of a PLC call upon educators to:

  • Focus on learning.
  • Build a collaborative culture.
  • Create a results orientation.

McClure’s team has effectively implemented these principles to ensure continuous improvement in teaching and learning. Teachers and staff work together to analyze student data, identify challenges, and implement targeted strategies, showcasing their dedication to student success.

The accolade builds on McClure’s history of academic success, including recent recognition as a Georgia Literacy Leader and Georgia Math Leader, particularly among its sixth and eighth-grade students.

“We have a staff that is incredibly dedicated to our students and their success. We are incredibly honored by this recognition of the work we do every day at McClure to grow our students and one another as professionals,” Principal Cory Stanley said in response to McClure’s national recognition.
