Planning and Design is responsible for:

1. Management of Planning and Design of all SPLOST-funded building, renovation, and modification activities
2. Management of all the procurement of all non-SPLOST funded building, renovation, and modification activities at the local schools
3. Management of the maintenance of the long-range comprehensive facilities plan with the Georgia Department of Education
4. Facilitation and oversight of the development of a quality management program (QA/QC) for all building construction, renovation, and modification projects
5. Establishment and maintenance of the project standards through oversight of the Cobb County School District Design Standards and Education Specifications
6. Oversight of leasing and placement of temporary facilities such as portable classrooms
