Mr. Johnson's BIO
Bradley Reuben Johnson has served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Cobb County School District since 2012. The district is the second largest public school system in Georgia and 23rd largest in the United States. The district has an enrollment exceeding 113,000 students, 15,000 employees and a General Fund Budget exceeding $1 Billion.
Mr. Johnson has more than 3 decades of experience in the areas of finance, budgeting and accounting. Previous roles have included Deputy Chief Financial Officer for Atlanta Public Schools, Deputy Chief Financial Officer for the Cobb County School District, Budget Director for the Cobb County School District and general accounting positions at Ivan Allen Company and United Parcel Service earlier in his career.
He currently directs all finance functions for the school district in the areas of Accounting, Budget & Forecasting, Payroll, Internal Compliance and Auditing, Local School Accounting, Property Asset Accounting, Cash Management, Grants Accounting, Accounts Payable and Capital Project Accounting.
Mr. Johnson obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration & Accounting from Bryan College, Dayton, TN and a M.B.A. in Financial and Business Management from the University of West Georgia, Carrollton, Ga. He is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) and is a Certified Government Financial Manager (C.G.F.M.) sponsored by the Association of Government Accountants (AGA).
